Clone Wars Benefit Screening with Cast and Crew

Tonight R2 made a return appearance at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood for a special benefit screening of The Clone Wars.

Fans signed up online to attend. The admission price was simply a donated toy, and Hasbro matched each gift with one of their own. The fans got to see a much-anticipated three-episode arc of The Clone Wars on the big screen that won't air on television until January. (I got to see it too, and let's just say the Sith aren't just sitting around twiddling their thumbs.)

Several members of the 501st, Rebel Legion, and Mandalorian Mercs were on hand, as well as all sorts of other people, including Clone Wars director Dave Filoni, the voice cast of The Clone Wars, LucasFilm web content creator Bonnie Burton, film director Kyle Newman and wife Jamie King, Robot Chicken co-creator Matt Senreich, and many more. They're all in there, trust me.

G4 TV had a camera crew on hand as well. G4 host Candace Bailey and R2 were in a few shots together.

UPDATE 12/17/2010:

The video is up:

Before the show started, the cast did a Q&A and trivia contest, where lots of prizes were given away to the kids.

Of course, there were pictures, pictures, pictures with the fans.

It was a nice evening. Not over the top, but not too low-key. Just right.
