Added Speed Controller Kill Switch

I have a couple of events coming up this weekend, one of which I will probably want to have R2 sit still for long periods of time for photos. I'd still like to be able to play sounds and turn the dome, so I decided I to install an on/off switch for the speed controller. Usually the switch will just stay on, but I prefer to have the option to turn it off on demand.

First I cut a small segment of a PVC strip to hold the switch to the bottom of the frame.

Next, I drilled the hole for the switch to fit through.

I followed that up with a couple of holes for the wood screws that are used to mount the strip to the frame.

I then wired up the switch with the soldering iron.

Finally, I scooted the original main power and receiver batter switches to the left, and screwed down this new switch just to the right of them. I tested, and everything works exactly like I want.

Hey Victor,
I have that in my R2 and it is a very nice feature. I can run the dome and sound while the feet are dead.
I did it because I was afraid if I walked away from R2 and he got a rogue signal he might take off.
It's just alittle insurance policy.

Sorry I haven't commented in a while, But I've been real busy and I've been in the hospital allot here lately.

Hi Calvin,

Thanks for writing. I'm glad to hear that the speed controller switch has been useful for you, hopefully I'll get some good use of it as well.

Sorry to hear you've been back in the hospital, here's hoping for a speedy recovery!!

All the best,
