Yesterday I mentioned that I may have sanded with too coarse a sand paper when working on the battery boxes. The scratches on the back face of the battery boxes support this conclusion.
Time to pull out the old can of Evercoat and smooth this over. I used a razor blade to apply a thin layer.
After the Evercoat had dried, I sanded it smooth with 400 grit sand paper. The streaks are good, that means that the Evercoat filled in the scratches.
I applied more primer to see how things looked. The good news is that the scratches are gone.
The not-so-good news is that one of the battery boxes may require further sanding of the Evercoat, to get the surface a little smoother. It'll get there eventually.
