R2LA Builder Weekend, July 2009 - Day 1

Today a bunch of local (and non-local) R2 Builders got together at Mike Senna's house for an R2 Builder day.

Chris Ellerby brought his droid-in-progress, with assistance from Russell Rucker.

Russell worked on some scratch-built pocket vents, using scraps from the aluminum skins.

Meanwhile, I spent all day aligning the Rockler bearing to the frame before marking and drilling it. Tape over the race!

Jerry Chevalier was in town, and gave me a lot of help with installing the Rockler bearing. Thanks Jerry!

There was a fair bit of plain old socializing as well. Mike loves to walk around with the computer hosting the webcast.

We'll do it again tomorrow, can't wait!
