I can't think of a way to do what you suggest, but it may be a case of poor creative thinking on my part.
If I really minded the fact that I can detect the screws on the outside of the outer skins, I would probably fill in the screw heads with some sort of filler after screwing down the skins, and then paint over them. As it is, the screw heads are painted white and they are hard to see unless you get pretty close to the droid and look for them. Of course, a really good camouflage job would make it hard to find the screws again, should the need arise to remove them.
Incidentally, I purposely chose not to paint the screws that hold the back door and battery box doors in place, since those are removed from time to time (especially the back door screws).

Could there be a way to JB weld tabs to the back of the front skins and secure them from the back so the screw heads do not show?
