Season 3 of The Mandalorian has R5-D4 sporting a new look for his neck ring. Rather than engine-turned aluminum as seen in A New Hope, each of the 16 windows around the neck ring has a 2 row/3 column array of inset circles. I decided to 3D-print these with the circles all the way through, and back them up with some card stock.
I applied an undercoat of gray paint/primer to the first 8 window fillers.
Next, I primed/painted the card stock, again 8 at a time.
Before long this was done.
I will glue the card stock to the back of the 3D-printed pieces, and then apply a light aluminum-colored topcoat.
