Today was Star Wars day for the kids at Hillsides in Pasadena, CA. Hillsides provides a safe and stable environment for children and youth who cannot live at home.
There was a large variety of Star Wars clubs and characters represented - Sith, Jedi, Stormtroopers, Denizens, Mandalorians, and of course, a droid.
The characters prepared for their appearance.
At 11:00am at least 30 characters lined up. R2 hid underneath a stairway, as the lineup spot was a bit difficult for him to reach. Instead, he joined the line as it marched by.
The characters spent time with the kids, taking pictures and signing autographs. (I sign for R2: "Beep Boop! R2-D2") We weren't allowed to post pictures with the kids, and I didn't take any anyway.
After the visit, the Saber Guild put on their show, which the kids enjoyed.
When we were done, we took some group pictures, both with and without R2, since he was a little late in arriving for the photograph (pesky stairs).
Everyone enjoyed the visit, and it was quite a successful event.
