Today was day #2 of PopCon LA. My first order of business was to get the repaired drivetrain back onto the ankle of my droid. With Roy Powers' help, mission accomplished.
Before show opening, Ed Perello, Michael McMaster and Matt Munson joined Chris Romines for a pre-show chat. We were later joined by William Miyamoto and Max Cervantes.
Cindy Morgan proudly displays a picture she took earlier with my droid and Chris'.
Lando Calrissian himself, Billy Dee Williams, took a picture with Michael McMaster and me, along with our droids and Chris Romines' droid.
Back to the Future actress Claudia Wells also took a picture with the droids.
Looks like William needs to wear those painter stilts he uses when he dresses in his Vader costume.
Joe Viskocil, the man who blew up the Death Star as the pyrotechnician on the original Star Wars, kindly signed my back panel.
At the end of the day, William Miaymoto, Chris Romines, Michael McMaster and Matt Munson joined me on stage for an R2 Builders panel. We discussed pretty much everything, from how the club works, to build methods, tools, lessons learned and funny stories regarding mishaps and misadventures. It was well-received.
William, Max, Michael and I wrapped up with a nice dinner at ESPN Zone at LA Live. It was a good day.
It looks like most (or all) of the guys can't make it to PopCon LA tomorrow, so this may end up being a truncated convention weekend.
